Makayla Fairman is on a record-breaking tear. At the Ron Kamaka Multis (Feb 19–20), Fairman scored a career-high 3,800 points in the Heptathlon, crushing the school record for the second time in her collegiate career. Her performance was highlighted by an incredible 15.24s in the 100m Hurdles and a 2:29.87 in the 800m.
Fairman followed up her multi-event success by claiming the individual school record in the Long Jump at the Cuyamaca Invitational. Her winning leap of 5.54m (18' 2.25") surpassed the legendary Dorothy Jenkins' mark of 18' 2" that had stood since the year 2000. With two individual records and a share of the 4x400m record, Fairman is positioning herself as a heavy favorite for the CCCAA State Championships.
