This season marked just over a year since Angela's knee surgery—an injury that would have ended the sport for many. But Angela chose to come back. Her return to volleyball after such a traumatic setback is truly inspiring. Her dedication to this sport and to her own healing has made her a role model for every athlete around her. She never complained, never backed down, and showed us what true perseverance looks like.
Angela has been playing volleyball for 8 years and made an immediate impact at Cuyamaca. This season, she recorded 216 digs, averaging 3.4 digs per set, leading the entire team in total digs. Within the PCAC, she ranks 7th in digs per set and 10th in total digs, solidifying her role as one of the conference's top defensive players.
In addition to her commitment on the court, Angela also excels in the classroom. The 3C2A would like to present Angela with the All-State Academic Team Award.
Off the stat sheet, Angela is even more exceptional. She is the teammate who listens, who encourages, who makes everyone feel safe and supported. Her unwavering kindness has touched every individual on this roster, and her presence—both quiet and powerful—will be deeply missed. Some of our favorite memories with her come from the small moments: laughing before matches, connecting off the court, and forming bonds that will last long after the season.
To her teammates and coaches, Angela leaves these heartfelt words:
"I've never felt this comfortable with a team ever, and I'm so, so grateful for all of my teammates and coaches."
And to future collegiate athletes she leaves this powerful message:
"Give it everything you have all the time."
Angela, we are so incredibly grateful that this season brought you to us. From the moment you stepped into the gym, you made this team better—with your work ethic, your kindness, your resilience, and the way you care for everyone around you. We feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know you, and we wish you nothing but the very best in all your future endeavors.
