Psychology Major 

At 6'0" with a motor that doesn’t quit, Yasmine Zufri anchors the paint for Cuyamaca as a freshman center physical on the glass, vocal on defense, and reliable around the rim. Raised in Paradise Hills, she tried every sport her mom could find, but basketball stuck. The spark hit in fifth grade during a students-vs-teachers game, when she earned her first MVP medal and decided the grind was worth it.

A graduate of Morse High School, Zufri competed in Volleyball, basketball, and track, building the footwork, timing, and toughness she now brings to college play. She’s open about turning her ADHD into an edge, channeling energy into daily development on and off the court, from extra reps and film to consistent recovery routines.

On the floor, Zufri’s calling cards are rebounding position, vertical contest, without fouling, and deep-seal finishes. She sets sturdy screens, runs the floor, cleans the offensive glass, and converts second-chance points with an inside presence that steadies the Coyotes. Off the floor, the Psychology major studies mindset and performance, intent on understanding how confidence, routine, and resilience shape results.

Grounded in faith, she leans on a favorite reminder “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers” and another truth she keeps close: “He who is in me is greater than who is in this world.” When moments get loud, she resets, refocuses, and competes. For Cuyamaca, her focus is simple: defend the paint, run the floor, and raise the standard every day.
