La Mesa, CA

Brinley Campbell, a sophomore, won her first-ever state title in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking an impressive 13.84 seconds. Her time is the fastest in California community college competition this year, marking a breakthrough moment in her record-breaking season.

Tyler Thomas, a freshman, cleared 4.10 meters (13' 5¼") in the pole vault to finish 9th in the state. Earlier this season at the 3C2A SoCal Regionals, Tyler set a personal best and Cuyamaca Top 10 record of 4.40 meters (14' 5¼"), signaling a bright future in the event.

Brandon Doctor, a freshman high jumper, tied for 7th place with a 1.90-meter (6' 2¾") clearance at State. His season best is 1.95 meters (6' 4¾"), set earlier at the 3C2A SoCal Regionals, making him a promising competitor for Cuyamaca moving forward.

Makayla Fairman, also a freshman, broke the school heptathlon record for the second time this season. After scoring 3,487 points at the 3C2A SoCal Championships in April, she surpassed that with 3,732 points at State. Makayla's event results at State included:

● High Jump: 4' 11¾" (4th)
● Shot Put: 23' 6¼" (11th)

● Long Jump: 15' 7¾" (6th)
